Kapha is composed of earth + water, governing stability and structure in the body. Kapha regulates stability, energy, lubrication, forgiveness and oilness.

Everyone has kapha dosha, but some people will have more of it. People who are mainly kapha are usually very loyal, earthy, nurturing and loving. Kapha is associated with the seasons of winter, so if you are already dominant in kapha, you’ll want to make sure to keep active and warm this winter (everyone will but especially those who already have a lot of kapha energy).

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Do you feel like you look at a cookie and gain weight?

  2. Are you naturally very nurturing, people come to you with their problems?

  3. Is it common for you to slip into a period of depression?

  4. Do you prefer walking to cardiovascular exercise?

    5. Do you have thick, shampoo commercial hair?

If you answered yes to a few of these, you might be dominantly kapha!
